January 24, 1984 - Michael shoots a Pepsi commercial with the
Jacksons, directed by Bob Giraldi, featuring the group dancing in the
street with a bunch of kids (including Alfonso Ribeiro & Siggy
Jackson) on a Pepsi version of "Billie Jean".
January 27, 1984 - Michael suffers second and third degree
scalp burns during the filming of a second Pepsi commercial after a
pyrotechnics accident. He is rushed to Cedar Sinai Medical Center, then
Brotman Memorial Hospital for treatment at the burn center.

Michael is released from Brotman Memorial Hospital and goes to
Emmanuel Lewis’s home to recover from the accident.
February 1, 1984 - Michael receives an official letter from U.S.
President Ronald Reagan wishing him a speedy recovery.
February 7, 1984 - Michael goes to the New York Metropolitan Museum
of Natural History to receive awards from CBS & The Guinness Book Of
World Records to celebrates 'Thriller' as the largest-selling album of all
time (25 millions at the time). Among the many guest are Michael’s date for
the evening Brooke Schields, & the whole Jackson family; he also
interviews with "Star" magazine.
February 9, 1984 - Michael attends the opening night to "The Rink"
Broadway show, starring Chita Rivera and his good friend Liza
Minnelli.
February 10, 1984 - Michael attends a black tie party honoring
veteran actor Yul Brynner at Studio 54.
February 14, 1984 - Michael, after seeing the front page story of
Elton John's marriage to Renata Blauel, sends him a congratulatory
message. He also assists in the birth of a little buck called Valentino at
his home.
February 25, 1984 - Michael attends the "Pepsi Bottlers Convention"
New York City ’s Lincoln Center, a black-tie event which highlighted the
unveiling of the two upcoming commercials with him and The Jacksons. He
reenacts a scene from the "Street" commercial with dancer Alfonso Ribeiro on
stage during the event.
February 28, 1984 - In the company of Brooke Shields
& Emmanuel Lewis, Michael attends the Grammy Awards ceremony broadcast
live from the Shrine Auditorium of Los Angeles. He wins an unprecedented 8
awards. On stage he shares his triumph with producer Quincy Jones and even
invites his sisters Janet, LaToya & Rebbie to joins him. "Weird Al"
Yankovic's "Eat It" parody song of Jackson's "Beat It", which Michael
personally approved in a co-writing credit contract, is released.
February 29, 1984 - Michael appears on "The 1st Annual Black Gold
Awards", accepting "Top Male Vocalist Award", "Best Video
Performance Award" for "Beat It", "Best Single Record of the Year Award"
for "Billie Jean", and "Best Album Of The Year Award" for "Thriller".

Spring-Fall 1984 - Michael sees "The Shadow of Michael", a short-film

Promotions at Epic as his new manager, officially starting his duties April

and his red leather jacket from 'Beat It'. In the evening, Michael attends
Swifty Lazar’s "56th Academy Awards Board of Governors Ball" with Liza
Minnelli; he meets actor George McFarland. He later goes on to visit Liza’s
father director Vincente Minnelli.
April 13, 1984 - Michael meets Frank Sinatra at a recording
session of Sinatra's album "L.A. Is My Lady". A short segment of this
footage is featured in the official music video for Sinatra's song.
April 14, 1984 - Michael attends the T.J Martell
Foundation for Leukaemia and Cancer Research Benefit dinner, providing a
19-bed unit at the Mount Sinai New York Medical Center.
April 27, 1984 - Michael welcomes Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs
at Hayvenhurst Avenue home in Encino.

suffering with a brain tumor, attends part of the first concert, but
