January 9, 2002 - Michael appears on the "29th Annual American Music Awards", accepting the "Artist of the Century Award".
February 9, 2002 - Michael and Elizabeth Taylor attend the fundraiser "Art For Aids: A Tribute To Rock Hudson" at the Laguna Art Museum in Laguna Beach. Later in the evening, they attend a private dinner at Dana Point with Michael’s dermatologist Dr Arnold Klein.
February 24, 2002 - Michael invests $15-20 million inMDP Worldwide Entertainment Inc., a little-known Montreal film producer and distributor, and its new division to be called Neverland Pictures. Films planned include "Tom Thumb" and "Wolfed!", based on the novel "The Wolf-Leader" by Alexander Dumas. March 2002 - Michael interviews with Vibe Magazine, discussing why he brought Janet to interviews when he was younger, his success, R&B, hip hop dancing, rappers featured in Invincible, his children, 30th Anniversary special, the 9/11 attacks, the inspiration for "Speechless", tabloids, and his creative process.
March 5, 2002 - Michael's background vocals for Brandy's "It's Not Worth It" is released with her "Full Moon" album. Later, producer Rodney Jerkins releases instrumental track "Ride with Me" containing these background vocals more prominently in his "Versatility" album.
March 8, 2002 - Michael calls the Los Angeles radio station "100.3 The Beat LA", and interviews with Steve Harvey.
March 16, 2002 - Michael is best man at the wedding of David Gest & Liza Minnelli celebrated in New York City with a galaxy of stars such as Elizabeth Taylor, Diana Ross and Michael’s brothers Randy & Tito. Angry with Sony Music who refused to release 'What More Can I Give' & finance the video for Unbreakable, Michael invites several fans to his suite to explain them the situation and encourage them to push the promotion of 'Invincible'. Michael also decides to finance & produce the 'Unbreakable' video by himself. He hires Brett Ratner to direct it and asks Chris Tucker & Mel Gibson to play in it. He also contemplates the video of a new world tour mainly to pay back his debt to Sony.
April 20, 2002 - Michael appears on "American Bandstand's 50th... A Celebration!" at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California, performing "Dangerous"; he interviews before the show with Entertainment Tonight answering questions about his children.
April 24, 2002 - Michael appears on "A Night at the Apollo", a Democratic National Committee get-out-the-vote fundraising event to raise money for a campaign to encourage young people to register to vote, performing
April 25, 2002 - Michael releases a statement to fans through the MJNI (MJ News International) phone hotline, thanking specific fan groups for their support and the importance of fans to him.

(Pretty Young Thing)" is released in Monica's "All Eyez on Me" single; he had hand-delivered the master to the studio she was working in. July 6, 2002 - Michael is presented with the 'The Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Fan Award' at the Grand Ballroom of Webster Hall, New York City. July 9, 2002 - Michael goes to Al Sharpton’s National Action Network headquarters in Harlem where he speaks again of a conspiracy in the record industry against black artists.
Mid-July 2002 - Michael settles at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas with Prince, Paris & Blanket, their nannies Grace and Patricia, and the bodyguards.
August 6, 2002 - Michael attends one of the "Voice of Magic" performances of magician Darren Romeo, protégé of Siegfried and Roy, in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mirage Hotel; after the performance, Siegfried invites Michael backstage to bottle-feed one of their Siberian White tiger cubs.

August 29, 2002 - Michael accepts the "Artist of the Millenium" by Britney Spears at the MTV Video Music Awards. MTV later reports that the award didn't exist, however MTV suggested in reports leading up to the event that Michael would be presented with an award, and the trophy was displayed right next to the birthday cake prepared for Michael. November 2002 - Michael gives an interview to Gold Magazine, discussing fame, the burden of his childhood stardom, his view on the media, and his future in film. November 2, 2002 - Michael accepts the World Arts Awards through a recorded video message during the World Awards For Men in Vienna.
November 19, 2002 - Michael arrives in Berlin, with his three children and Grace. Later he shocks the world when he briefly shows Blanket over the balcony of his hotel suite to fans. In the evening he goes to the restaurant with journalist Martin Bashir & business partner Dieter Wiesner.
November 21, 2002 - Michael attends the "Bambi Awards" with Wiesner & Bashir where Boris Becker presents him the "Pop Star Of The Millennium" award. During the ceremony, the video of 'What More Can I Give' is premiered. He also interviews with "Bunte" magazine at his Adlon Hotel room about his stay in Berlin. After, he meets the Wolf family, who he invited to visit after they suffered a home loss during the German floods in August.
