1999

1999 - Michael records "(I Can't Make It) Another Day" with singer and songwriter Lenny Kravitz.

1999 - Michael speaks with Shaggy via phone, allowing Shaggy to use "Shake Your Body (Down To the Ground)" as a sample for Shaggy's single "Dance and Shout". He also discusses Shaggy's latest hit "It Wasn't Me".

January 14, 1999 - Michael signs a four-concert deal that includes two December 31 millenium concerts: one in Sydney and, a speed jet ride later, one in Honolulu. Mama Concerts & Rau promoter Marcel Avram ultimately sues him on June 16, 2000 for not having two of the four mentioned concerts.

~January-March 1999 - Michael meets Brandy Norwood during his Record Plant recording sessions.

~February 27, 1999 - Michael attends an Andrea Bocelli concert for Elizabeth Taylor's birthday in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Bellagio.

March 23, 1999 - Michael visits Nelson Mandela's Cape Town residence, and announces two charity concerts entitled "Michael Jackson & Friends - The Adventure of Humanity."; one in Seoul, and one in Munich. He says the theme of the shows are "What More Can I Give", a song he is working on at the time.

~Spring 1999 - Michael leaves a voicemail for Boyz II Men's manager Qadree El-Amin to ask if the band could perform in the "Michael Jackson & Friends" concert with him, and asks if Qadree could reach out to his manager John McClain.

Late March - Mid-April 1999 - Michael records "She Was Loving Me" (a.k.a. "Chicago") at the Hit Factory recording studio with Cory Rooney in New York City.

April 10, 1999 - Michael attends a "Fulham Football Club" match in Fulham, London at Craven Cottage.

April 12, 1999 - Michael interviews with Liberty, a radio station owned by Harrods boss Mohammed Al Fayed, discussing his visit to Fulham Football Club with owner Mohammed Al Fayed, Elizabeth Taylor, collaborating with his brothers and 3T and his future plans. He also gives a phone interview with Piers Morgan for "Daily Mirror" tabloid newspaper.

April 26, 1999 - Michael interviews on a 4AM phone call with Paul Theroux, discussing Elizabeth Taylor, fame and isolation, hobbies, his childhood, and his children.

May 1999 - Michael records "You Rock My World".

May 1999 - Michael records "Privacy".

May 1999 - Michael records "We've Had Enough".

May 1, 1999 - Michael attends the "Bollywood Awards" in Long Island, New York at the Nassau Coliseum, accepting the "Humanitarian Award".

May 1999 - Michael's proposal to direct and co-produce a film entitled "Home of the Angels" to filmmaker Bryan Michael Stoller, after watching a screening of Stoller's "Undercover Angels" film with him at Michael's Neverland home, is accepted. The project is ultimately cancelled.

May 28, 1999 - Michael records "Fall Again", but cuts the recording session short when Prince suffers a seizure due to a high temperature. He decides to cancel his planned performance with Pavarotti for the June 1 "Pavarotti & Friends for Guatemala and Kosovo" TV special after Prince suffers a seizure.

May 28, 1999 - BONUS: A special presentation of the song ‘Seeing Voices’, sung by Michael, is unveiled at the Ventura Club in Sherman Oaks, California by Sidney Fine. The event is filmed by Michael’s personal cameraman, but he does not appear at the event.

Summer 1999 - Michael works with Sega to have his likeness and record his voice in a cameo for the Dreamcast game "Space Channel 5".

June 12, 1999 - Michael purchases director David O. Selznick's "Best Picture" Oscar award for "Gone With The Wind" at a Sotheby's New York auction over the phone through an agent, paying $1,542,500, a record sum for Hollywood memorabilia.

July 3-4, 1999 - Michael does a photoshoot with French photographer Arno Bani in a studio near Paris; his make up artist Karen Faye and stylist Michael Bush join him.

Summer 1999 - Michael records "Xscape".

June 25, 1999 - Michael performs at Chamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul, Korea, for his "Michael Jackson & Friends" charity concert. He also speaks of Korea and its president at the time. He performs a medley (Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough"/"The Way You Make Me Feel"/"Scream"/"Beat It"/"Black or White"/"Billie Jean"), "Dangerous", "Earth Song", and "You Are Not Alone".

June 27, 1999 - Michael performs at the Olympic Stadium in Munich, Germany for his "Michael Jackson & Friends" charity concert. Same set list as June 25 concert. During his Earth Song performance, Michael suffers bruising and minor burns when the bridge platform separates too soon, causing the middle section to fall to the stage. He sings the closing theme of "The Carol Burnett Show" to end the show.

November 9, 1999 - Michael plans to star as the lead actor in a film produced by named "The Nightmares of Edgar Allan Poe".

December 4, 1999 - Michael's interview with "TV Guide" is published.

December 8, 1999 - Michael interviews with Alex Colletti for "MTV: 100 Greatest Music Videos Ever Made", where he discusses his creative process, the Three Stooges, innovation, contributing to the "Billie Jean"music video,  and the idea of becoming a panther.
