January 29, 1974 - Michael and The Jackson 5 arrive in Dakar (Senegal) for their first African tour. They hold a press conference with Senegalese radio. During their stay, they visit Goree Island and they shoot a film called Isomin Cross And Son which tells of a family crossing the in 1860 and the problems they encounter. "Jackson 5 in Africa" documentary is shot, but ultimately not finished.

March 11, 1974 - Michael's performance of "When We Grow Up" with Roberta Flack on the children's TV special "Free to Be... You and Me" airs.

March 16, 1974 - Michael and the Jackson 5's appearance on the Carol Burnett Show, taking part in a comedy skit at a music school which features a performance of 'This Old Man' / 'ABC', and a performance of 'Dancing Machine', airs.

March 31, 1974 - Michael speaks with press about a planned starring role for the film version of the Broadway musical "The Me Nobody Knows"; this is ultimately cancelled.

Following one of the concerts, they interview with "Disc" magazine, discussing the differences with the cabaret sets in Los Angeles and Lake Tahoe.
