"Fulham Football Club" Match Attendance
Michael Jackson stunned Fulham football fans when he appeared on the pitch at Craven Cottage with his friend and the club's chairman Mohamed Al Fayed before the game against Wigan.
After being cheered by the 12,000-strong crowd, he took his seat in the stand wearing a Fulham scarf and his trademark sunglasses to watch the team win 2-0.
"I knew nothing about soccer and I've never been to any sporting event, so it was a great experience for me", he said after the match. "I'm a soccer fan nowm definitely. The fans were great, although they seemed pretty surprised to see me. I have no doubt that Fulham will be promoted, they seemed a really good team with a great spirit."
His prediction came true later that week when Fulham beat Gillingham 3-0 to ensure their place in Division One next season.
