Flight Home from London
Sunday, February 23
Michael left the Dorchester at 9am to catch a flight to New York on Concorde. The hotel maids reveal that his suite was left in a mess. "It was like a bombsite. He left videos and toys scattered all over the floor", says one maid. Just before flying out from Heathrow Airport, Michael told waiting pressman, "I've had a great time, I'll be back in the summer!"
Michael Jackson left London for Los Angeles last night--taking his hotel bed linen with him.
The multi-millionaire superstar whipped his white cotton sheets from the exclusive Dorchester Hotel because he had written song lyrics on them during his five-day stay.
Astonished chambermaids who cleared him £1,175 a night suite revealed that some of the weird singer's sheets were missing and other linen was strewn around the bedroom, covered with messages and strange drawings.
Dozens of videos, books, and toys were scattered about the suite, discarded by 33-year-old Jackson and his 10-year-old [friend] Brett.
...Revealed one maid...
"There were drawings and messages scrawled all over some of the pillowcases and bed covers, which will just have to be thrown away.
"He'd obviously taken some of his sheets with him, because some were missing. Apparently, he writes song lyrics on them. He also threw some pillow cases out of the window with messages written on to his fans."
Jackson's former chef, Faye Quindoy, 48, confirmed that he writes lyrics on his sheets. "He refuses to let them be changed until he's finished writing the song."
Jackson slipped out of his hotel in the early hours and sneaked past throngs of fans camped outside.
But not one fan was at Heathrow Airport to see him board a scheduled Concorde flight.
He arrived in a convoy of four limousines and emerged from the back of one of the cars with a children's book about Jesus held in front of his face.
"I've had a great time here, I've enjoyed it", he said. "I'll be coming back again in the summer."
