Michael and Paul McCartney Catalog Meeting / "32nd Annual Grammy Awards"

Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney settled their multi-million pound feud in a three hour head-to-head meeting before the Grammy Awards ceremony.

The two richest men in rock fell out four years ago when Jackson paid £34 million for Northern Songs Ltd., which owns the rights to 270 Beatles songs.

Paul had bid £25 million and was so furious Jackson won--forcing him to pay royalties every time he songs one of his OWN songs in public--that he refused to work with Jackson again.

But now Jackson is believed to have given McCartney an extra FOUR percent--worth millions--making Paul's share in the firm 14.5 percent.

The move smooths the way for them to work together and match the success of their earlier songs, like "Say Say Say" and "The Girl is Mine".

It was a great day for Paul. Meryl Streep presented him with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony.

Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles staged a musical tribute to Macca during show in the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium.

Paul said: "I can't believe I've won this award. If you'd told me that the Berlin Wall would come down and Mr. Mandela would be free, I wouldn't have believed that either. But I believe it now!"

Jackson, who was NOT at the Grammy Awards, but received a special award from CBS for selling 110 million records in the last decade, said: "I am happy Paul and I have settled our slight problems."
