Sammy Davis Jr. Concert Appearance

Michael Jackson took a quick detour from his European tour to make a surprise appearance in Monte Carlo, where singer Sammy Davis Jr. is performing. Jackson, in black pants and a red leather vest, was on stage for only a few moments Saturday night, hugging Davis and calling "I love you" to the crowd. Early in his career, Jackson and his brothers the Jackson Five were an opening act for Davis. "We knew each other when we were small, and since then he's grown up a lot," joked the diminutive Davis. He's 62; Jackson turns 30 later this month. Jackson was in the area for a concert in nearby Nice on the French Riviera.
