The Peter Pan of pop Michael Jackson thinks Liz Taylor is still a thriller--at the age of 54. Twenty-seven-year-old Michael is pictured here sharing a joke with radiant Liz. The laugh-in came during the opening day festivities at Hollywood Park racetrack in Inglewood.

“I once went to the track with Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson. I asked Michael to pick a horse. He said, ‘Oh no, I’m a Jehovah’s Witness.’ So I told him to just put his hand down on the race card. His hand came down on this horse that was a 30-1 shot. I bet on that horse and it won. I came over to Michael and said, ‘We won!’ I tried to give the money to him, but he screamed and tore off running.”

Chris Cadman, author, “Michael Jackson the Maestro”

Michael accompanied Elizabeth Taylor to the opening for the Spring/Summer season of the horse races at Hollywood Park... Also there were George Hamilton, Burt and Carol Bayer Sager (who was then Burt’s wife).

Michael was almost refused entry because he didn’t have on the appropriate dress. Thankfully common sense prevailed.
