Flight Home From England
Monday April 1. Michael flies back to America by Concorde. Whisked through Heathrow, he holds a hat over his face in a way that brings to mind Prince's exit earlier in the year.
Suddenly, a fan breaks through the crowd clutching a copy of "Thriller". Michael stops, smiles, and signs it.
Pat Stead, Michael Jackson's press officer in London, gets a call from CBS in Los Angeles.
"Hey--what did you do to Michael in England, he's so happy.'
Pat tells them he seemed just as happy when he arrived.
"But how did you get him to stand on that car? What tricks did you use?"
None. He did it himself.
The LA press office is amazed. "He's a changed person."
