At a champagne breakfast on 28th September, 1977 at Astoria Studios, just before The Wiz was about to commence filming, Michael met the press along with Diana Ross.

“I’m really excited because I love the story. My favourite character in the original movie – “The Wizard Of Oz” – was always the scarecrow. I think he’s bright and I love everything about him.”

“I love all the people in the cast, and I’m especially happy to be working with Diana again. We’re having a great time.”
