"Blue Jeans" Magazine Interview

Date of publication confirmed in Chris Cadman’s “Michael Jackson the Maestro”

The Jacksons gave readers of Blue Jeans magazine 10 their favourite memories in October, 1977.

Michael’s most exciting memory was meeting the Queen in May of 1977 in Scotland for her Jubilee year.

“Definitely when we were asked to perform for the Queen at her Silver Jubilee show – it really was a great honour for us to be called over to do it.”

“After the show, she came over to have a chat, and she was really so nice. She asked us how long we were over her for, whether we’d come over just to do the show, if we really were all brothers and where we were going next ... but best of all, she told us how much she’d enjoyed the concert.”

Another memory for Michael was not so memorable, as it involved the heat in the Arizona desert.

“We opened all the windows and had the air conditioning on full, but it didn’t seem to make any difference. To make things even worse, the car suddenly overheated, so we just had to sit and wait until it had cooled down.”
