"Dynamite" Magazine Interview

Date range assessed by the fact that he is asked about the success of his “Off the Wall” album, which was released on August 10, 1979.

Chris Cadman, author, “Michael Jackson the Maestro” (Article Summary / Quotes)

The basis of this article is taken from various radio interviews.

Michael talked about the early days of rehearsals and how they used to stay indoors while the other local kids played baseball.

“Whoever was competent in a certain thing would do it. My thing was dancing and singing up front, and that’s what I did.”

Michael realized a big ambition in 1977 when he co-starred in THE WIZ.

“I loved acting. You can get in to a scene and even though they say, ‘Cut,’ you don’t want to stop! The director would have to come over and tell me, Okay! We got it!”

The experience gave Michael the appetite for more:

“I plan to star in movies in the future. My father has tons of scripts that people send in everyday or me to consider.”

Michael on his debut solo album on Epic Records:

“I’m really pleased at the success of my OFF THE WALL album.”
