"Superstar '73" Magazine Interview
Date range confirmed in Chris Cadman’s “Michael Jackson the Maestro”
Chris Cadman, author, “Michael Jackson the Maestro” (article summary/quotes)
The January 1973 issue of Superstar 73 magazine had an interview with Michael from his bedroom in California. Michael returned a call to Superstar magazine teasing the reporter that he was at the zoo lying on his bed looking at the animals. After startling the reporter and keeping the joke going for a while he finally gave in.
“Okay, I guess I’ve pulled that leg long enough. I’m in my room, we just got an extension put in down the hall and the cord reaches all the way into my bedroom. And it’s full of animals – along with a lot of other things – but they’re all stuffed. Well, almost all of them.”
Michael talks about a boa constrictor the family has brought and that they are working hard on a new album and TV Series scheduled to be aired later in the year.
In his bedroom Michael says he had put up posters of Big Ben and The Eiffel Tower and said he was looking forward to seeing more of Britain in 1973.
