"Right On" Magazine Interview
Date range confirmed in Chris Cadman’s “Michael Jackson the Maestro”
Chris Cadman, author, “Michael Jackson the Maestro” (article summary/quotes)
Each of the brothers were asked what they’d do if they were no longer in the Jackson 5 by Right On magazine for their August 1972 issue.
Michael had got the acting bug after appearing with Diana Ross in her special in 1971. Since taking baby steps on the special, Michael said he was keen to do some serious acting in the future.
“I really dug doing that skit on Diana’s TV special. That was my first time acting, and it was a lot of fun.”
Sidney Poitier was an actor Michael really admired:
“I’d like to do the kind of things Sidney Poitier does. He’s great. He’s been my favourite actor since before I can remember. But right now my main ambition is to help make the Jackson Five even better.”
