"Tiger Beat Annual" Magazine Interview
Date range of publication confirmed in Chris Cadman’s “Michael Jackson the Maestro”
“Tiger Beat Annual” magazine (Summer 1971), from Chris Cadman’s “Michael Jackson the Maestro” (article summary/quotes)
Part of Tiger Beat’s Annual Issue in the Summer 1971 featured an article The Jackson 5’ s Super Fun Summer, with each member given their own page on what they will be doing during the Summer. Michael said he was going to continue with his music through the summer and broaden his musical education by taking piano lessons. He had recently talked his father into buying him a portable keyboard, and he was going to spend most of his time practising on it.
There were plans to record a new album in Detroit and possibly Nashville. And as part of their 35 cities tour they were planning on releasing a live album.
But most of all, during the summer he said he was looking forward to hearing the fans shouting their love to him and his brothers.
“Without it”, he said, “I’d be nothing at all.”
