“16” magazine (September 1971), From Chris Cadman’s “Michael Jackson the Maestro” (article summary/quotes)

Each brother talks about what’s the baddest thing they do. Michael explained that he felt his raunchy performance made him come across as a ‘lover boy’.

“Some people may think that I shouldn’t do this, since I’m only twelve years old and still have quite a bit to learn about girls. After all, I don’t even date yet.”

Michael enjoyed being on stage and performing for his fans and his main aim was to involve the audience. An enthusiastic crowd turns Michael and his brothers on when they’re on stage.

“Pow, pow, pow – I love people. I’m always looking to make new friends – even when I’m on stage performing. My main goal is to involve the audience in our show.

And what he really loves.

“I love it when you scream and dance – ‘cos that lets me know you’re having a good time.”
